The Forger's Apprentice - The Musical  by Mark Forgy, Kevin Bowen and C. S. McNerlin
Full musical production        The Art of Elmyr de Hory
The Park Theater Company presented the world premiere of THE FORGER’S APPRENTICE - THE MUSICAL by Mark Forgy, Kevin Bowen, and C. S. McNerlin with additional music by Martha Davis at the Sabes JCC Theatre (4330 South Cedar Lake Road, St. Louis Park 55416) June 11 - 21, 2015. This new musical is based on the story of an unlikely friendship between a young man from Minnesota and an artist with a secretive life and dubious past as an international art forger. THE FORGER’S APPRENTICE - THE MUSICAL offers a unique behind-the-curtain view of de Hory’s Kafka-meets-Marx Brothers world of art, deception, misplaced trust, betrayal, greed,  money, and the search for truth by his friend and protégé.

THE STORY:
It is a tale based on a true story, a coming-of-age adventure of Mark Forgy, a young Minnesotan who flees conformity during the turbulent 60s and embarks on a quest of self-discovery by going to Europe. There, on the Mediterranean island of Ibiza, his fortunes change as he becomes tied to a man with a mysterious past, and the unlikely bond between Mark and Elmyr de Hory transforms his life forever. This touching play weaves art, deception, illusion, humor, tragedy and hope in storytelling at its lyrical best.

We invite everyone to join us at The Forger's Apprentice – The Musical on our Facebook page for photos and updates about our play.  CREDITS:
